United Energy and Multinet Gas are one of Victoria’s largest energy distributors, servicing customers across east and south-east Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.
During a period of exponential growth the company initiated plans to engage new employees with strategic brand communications and welcome them to new premises. They wanted to acknowledge the history of the company and to educate new employees about their industrial past as they transformed into 'The intelligent utility'.
Working closely with Corporate affairs we devised a plan to create a historical exhibition at the new premises, and a Welcome pack for each of the hundreds of new employees.
We sourced a range of retired assets and artefacts from company depots across the region, and listened to stories from employees that had worked in the industry for decades. Partisan worked with artist Ben Taranto to execute their vision and create an installation which would pay tribute to a rich history of industry transformation.
We also created a journal as part of the Welcome pack for new employees. Designed with a scrapbook feel, it was a key piece of orientation collateral that documented the history of the company, whilst delivering company values and vision in a less corporate manner. The book comprised historical photography, images of artifacts and assets, handwritten facts, quotes and annotations, and provided plenty of space for note taking in a portable hand book format.
